Patient Positioning

Probe Positioning

Place the transducer on a sagittal plane over the peroneal head (easy to palpate) in orientation of the medial collateral ligament over the femorotibial joint.

Knee lateral collateral ligament longitudinal
Knee lateral collateral ligament cranial longitudinal

Note: Examine the entire length of the ligament by sweeping the probe cranially and distally. Check the medial collateral ligament during valgus stress (integrity?) and compare it with the opposite knee.
