Patient Positioning
Patient lies prone, leg in extended position. You may put a small pillow under the ankle.
Probe Positioning
Place the transducer on a transverse plane over the medial aspect of the dorsal joint.
note: in normal conditions, no liquid is detected in the semimembranosus gastrocnemius bursa
MHG: medial head of gastrocnemius
ST: semitendinosus
SM: semimembranosus
