Patient Positioning
Patient lies prone, leg in extended position. You may put a small pillow under the ankle.
Probe Positioning
Place the transducer on a transverse plane over the medial aspect of the dorsal joint.
Note: lifting the foot leads to increased blood flow of the vein with better visibility
