Patient Positioning
Patient supine, leg may be in slight external rotation.
Probe Positioning
Place the transducer on oblique longitudinal planes over the femoral neck and head. Lower ultrasonic frequencies may be necessary.
note: patient under longlasting systemic steroid treatment with tear of the rectus femoris muscle after fall
