Patient Positioning
Patient lies prone. The foot may hang out of the bed or place a little pillow under the ankle to reach a comfortable position.
Probe Positioning
Place the transducer on a transverse plane over the ischiatic tuberosity, later move the probe downward on axial planes.
Note: Patient with complete, acute tear of the proximal origin of the semimembranosus, semitendinosus and long head of biceps femoris muscles.
Note: The proximal origin of the semimembranosus, semitendinosus and long head of biceps femoris muscles cannot be shown with the ischial tuberosity as main landmark due to a complete tear
