Patient Positioning
Patient lies prone. The foot may hang out of the bed or place a little pillow under the ankle to reach a comfortable position.
Probe Positioning
Place the transducer on a sagittal plane over the ischiatic tuberosity and move the probe lateral and slightly distal to the conjoined tendon of the semitendinosus and the long head of biceps femoris to visualize the sciatic nerve.
