Patient Positioning
Patient seated in front of the examiner, hand palm down resting on the examination table.
Probe Positioning
Place the transducer on a sagittal plane over the dorsal aspect of the wrist. Move the probe radially or ulnarly over the extensor tendon compartment of interest.

note: moving the probe from cranial to distal on transverse planes over the 4th extensor tendon compartment shows distally the tear of the ligaments with bony avulsion (triquetrum) in a soccer player after injury of the wrist
note: moving the probe from radial to ulnar on longitudinal planes shows first a dorsoradial ganglion cyst, after the tear of the ligaments with bony avulsion (triquetrum)
