Probe Positioning
Place the transducer on longitudinal planes over the joints and digits of interest. Do not use any pressure – especially while looking for effusion or using doppler mode.
note: epithelial cyst of the distal finger due to chronic mechanical irritation without connection of the cyst to the distal interphalangeal joint and without degenerative changes of the joint in a young woman
note: patient with erosive osteoarthritis of the dip joints leading to a ganglion cyst
