Patient Positioning
Patient lies supine with a small pillow under the dorsal aspect of the ankle or patient may seat on the examination table, knee flexed and the plantar surface of the foot on the table.
Probe Positioning
Place the transducer on a longitudinal plane over the joints of the toe of interest.
note: synovitis of the MTP-joint and periarticular inflammation in a patient with psoriatic arthritis.
