ANTERIOR TALOFIBULAR LIGAMENT
Patient Positioning
Patient lies supine with a small pillow under the dorsal aspect of the ankle. The ankle is lying on its medial aspect.
Probe Positioning
Place the transducer with its lateral part over the lateral malleolus and rotate its anterior part in direction to the talus till the anterior talofibular ligament is seen.

Note: Injury with edema and effusion of the insertion of the talofibular ligament at the lateral malleolus after ankle distorsion
